Nusenda Credit Union has officially finalized the acquisition of Western Heritage Bank, marking a significant milestone for both financial institutions. The acquisition was completed on March 12, 2024, following approval from the National Credit Union Administration.

In a statement, Joe Christian, President/CEO of Nusenda, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, "On behalf of our board of directors and entire team, I am pleased to welcome Western Heritage customers and employees to the Nusenda family!" Christian highlighted the alignment of values between the two institutions, emphasizing their shared commitment to customer service, community impact, and employee well-being.

Following the merger, the two entities have become one, with Western Heritage Bank now operating under the name "Western Heritage – Powered by Nusenda Credit Union." More than fifty employees from Western Heritage Bank will join Nusenda as part of the transition.

Customers of Western Heritage Bank can expect a smooth transition as accounts and systems are gradually moved to Nusenda by late 2024. In the meantime, they will continue to receive services through existing Western Heritage branches, ATMs, websites, and mobile applications.
