Bernalillo County Commissioners approved $3.5 million in non-recurring capital from the Bernalillo County Behavioral Health Initiative to support the development of the Veterans Integration Center of New Mexico Transitional Living Services.

The approved funds will allow the Veterans Integration Center of New Mexico to construct a 20,000 square foot supportive housing center and community-like campus for veterans and their families, assisting them from transitional to permanent housing.

The housing center will offer 42 units and six additional beds. Wrap-around services will also be offered to include case management, financial planning and budgeting, employment, job placement, mental health and substance use counseling, legal services, transportation, and basic needs support.
