FCC Challenge Has Begun

From December 2, 2022 post.

Hello, East Mountain residents! The FCC challenge has begun and we need your help!

During the challenge, the public is able to view maps at broadbandmap.fcc.gov and search for their address to see information about the fixed and mobile services that internet providers report are available in their respective area.

Individuals will be able to:

1. File a challenge with the FCC directly through the map interface if the fixed internet services shown are not available at the user’s location.

2. Correct information about their location and add their location to the map if it is missing.

3. View the mobile wireless coverage reported by cellular service providers.

The FCC’s nationwide broadband map lists speeds at their advertised maximum rather than the maximum available at any given location; this is why this challenge process is so important.

All challenges submitted will be reviewed by the FCC and passed on to the relevant internet service provider for a response.
