Bernalillo County has been awarded $113,636 by the New Mexico Environment Department as a recipient of the Recycling and Illegal Dumping (RAID) grant for fiscal year 2023, which began July 1.
In addition to Bernalillo County, 15 communities, tribes and pueblos around the state received grants totaling $800,000, for 19 projects that will improve the quality of life and environment, particularly in rural areas.
Bernalillo County will use the grant to continue its educational outreach campaign to curb illegal dumping.
