*UPDATE* - Candelaria is back open to through traffic, and the scene is now clear.
Please avoid the area of Candelaria between 10th and 7th St. as Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office deputies are working to take a barricaded suspect into custody.
Update 1:30pm- The suspect exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Please continue to avoid the area as we work to clear the scene.
Update: 11am- We are now activating SWAT to assist with the barricaded suspect. Trujillo has barricaded inside his vehicle and is refusing to come out. Please avoid the area of Candelaria between 10th and 7th St.
Original Post: Deputies are actively searching for an armed and dangerous man, 37-year-old Tommy Trujillo, in the 4th St and Grecian Ave area. Trujillo has been on a violent crime spree since the early morning hours and has reportedly stolen multiple vehicles and robbed a business with a handgun. Trujillo has made suicidal statements and led law enforcement on multiple pursuits that were called off due to his dangerous driving that endangered the public. The last known vehicle that Trujillo was seen driving is a Blue Hyundai with the license plate AKHM13. If you see this vehicle or know the whereabouts of Tommy Trujillo, please call 911 right away and do not engage with the suspect. This is an active situation, and we are working to locate the suspect as quickly as possible.
