Sen. Craig Brandt is appalled by the bills coming from the New Mexico House Committee., referring to the proposed legislation as “trash.”

That feeling also extends to the recently fast-tracked CS/HB 364. CS/HB 364 directly benefits unions and is written in such a way that the citizens of New Mexico may be feeling its impact if passed, according to Brandt’s Facebook page.

The bill states that a company cannot force public employees to pay into a union if they do not wish to join one; however, taxpayers will still be the ones responsible for pay for the operations of the union.

With the bill being fast-tracked, Brandt is doing everything in his power to keep New Mexicans aware of the decisions that their Democratic dominated legislature is making that do not have their best interests in mind.

“HB 364 was fast-tracked through the House and Senate in less than 48 hours. So what is this critical bill that we violated all the normal processes? The collective bargaining act.” Brandt wrote in a Facebook post. “Bad for New Mexico, good for the Unions. All I can say is follow the money.”
