The University of New Mexico’s Information Technologies department has introduced two new resources aimed at supporting students, faculty, and staff in developing creative and technology skills.

One of the new offerings is free access to Gartner’s IT research library until June 30, 2026. This resource allows eligible users to explore a range of materials including case studies, market analysis, and technology trends. The access is available to UNM students, faculty, and staff across main and branch campuses, as well as the UNM Health Sciences Center. However, employees of UNMH, SRMC, and UNMMG are not eligible for this access. More information can be found on Gartner’s website.

Additionally, a do-it-yourself video production studio has been launched in Woodward Hall, Room 138. Managed by UNM IT Academic Technologies, the studio provides academic and content creators with equipment such as lighting, cameras, microphones, teleprompter control, and a Windows PC equipped with Open Broadcaster Software. The facility is open to all students, faculty, and staff without the need for prior experience.

To use the studio, individuals must complete a training video and quiz and agree to terms of use. Reservations for one- to four-hour sessions can be made through the UNM Bookings portal. Users are advised to bring a USB drive or utilize cloud-based storage options like OneDrive or SharePoint to save their work.
