The University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course has been ranked second among public-access courses in New Mexico by Golf Week Magazine, holding the same position as last year.

The course, located at 3601 University Blvd in Albuquerque, spans 7,555 yards and is a par 72 championship-level facility. It offers views of the city and the surrounding southwestern landscape. In addition to golf, the site provides meeting rooms for team building events, receptions, and other gatherings.

Golf Week Magazine included a full-page advertisement for the course on page 83, highlighting it as one of the university’s top attractions in New Mexico.

Since its completion in 1967, the Championship Golf Course has hosted several major tournaments. These include the annual Men’s William H. Tucker Invitational—recognized as the second-longest running college tournament—and the Women’s Dick McGuire Invitational. The course will serve as host for the 2028 Men’s NCAA Regionals and has previously hosted NCAA regional events in 2016 (Men’s), 2017 (Women’s), 2021 (Men’s), and 2022 (Women’s). Other notable events held at the venue are the Pacific Coast Amateur in 2019 and various stages of PGA Tour Korn Ferry Q-School qualifying from 2021 through 2025.

Discounted rates are available for UNM students, faculty, and staff. Employees may also use tuition remission benefits when golfing at this location.

The Championship Golf Course operates nearly year-round from sunrise to sunset. More information about tee times can be found on the UNM Championship Golf Course website.
