The University of New Mexico (UNM) is preparing for its 2025 Homecoming celebration, scheduled for October 13–18. Themed “Desert Boots and Lobo Roots,” the event aims to honor the university’s legacy and the culture of the Southwest. The festivities are organized by ASUNM Student Special Events and the Alumni Relations Office, leading up to the Lobos’ 100th homecoming football game.

The week will feature seven main events. These include President Stokes’ S’mores Roast, the ASUNM Homecoming Concert, Homecoming Hoops: Meet the Pack, the Division for Change and Empowerment Open House, ReUnite at Hodgin Hall, the Young Alumni Roundup, and the Homecoming Tailgate.

President Stokes’ S’mores Roast will take place on October 13 in the Cactus Garden. It will be President Stokes’ final S’mores Roast to start the week’s events. In case of bad weather, the event will move to the Student Union Building Atrium.

The ASUNM Homecoming Concert on October 14 at Popejoy Hall will feature Malcolm Todd, known for his viral singles “Art House” and “Roommates.” Sisterbaby, a local indie band led by UNM student Faye Elmore, will open the concert. Elmore said, “Getting to play at Popejoy Hall and to open for such a cool artist is truly a dream, we’re going to have a lot of fun with it.” Discounted tickets are available for students at the Bookstore Ticket Office with student ID; tickets can also be purchased online.

On the same evening, alumni can attend “Homecoming Hoops: Meet the Pack” at The Pit. This event offers an opportunity to meet members of the men’s and women’s basketball teams and hear from new men’s basketball head coach Eric Olen, women’s basketball head coach Mike Bradbury, and athletic director Fernando Lovo. Admission is free but requires registration due to limited space.

The Division for Change and Empowerment Open House will be held on October 16 in Scholes Hall. Attendees can learn about the division’s work in supporting UNM’s values and initiatives across campus.

ReUnite at Hodgin Hall is set for October 16 at the Hodgin Hall Alumni Center. The event includes live music, refreshments, and spirit tastings. Admission is free, but donations for the Lobo Food Pantry are encouraged.

The Young Alumni Roundup takes place on October 17 at Flock of Moons Brewing Company. It features a campus run, snacks, music, raffles, and drink specials. Partial proceeds from drink sales will benefit the UNM Young Alumni Scholarship Fund.

The week concludes with the Homecoming Tailgate and football game on October 18 at University Stadium. The rally will be held at Louie Lane with food, music, and giveaways under the Lobo tent. Discounted game tickets and meal bundles are available for purchase. Limited merchandise will be sold during the tailgate.

This year marks UNM’s 100th homecoming football game and their first homecoming matchup against Nevada. The Lobos’ all-time homecoming record stands at 46-50-3, while their record against Nevada is 3-6-1.

For more information about merchandise or registration details, attendees are encouraged to visit official university channels and check social media updates.
