The City of Albuquerque will hold its annual Twinkle Light Parade in Nob Hill on Saturday, December 6, starting at 5:15 p.m. The event will feature 125 illuminated entries, including marching bands, community groups, fire trucks, and show vehicles. Participants will compete for the Best in Show title.
Mayor Tim Keller commented on the significance of the event: “The Twinkle Light Parade is one of Albuquerque’s most cherished traditions. It’s a night when families, neighbors, and local groups come together to celebrate the season and light up our city with holiday spirit.”
Central Avenue from Washington to Girard will be closed to traffic beginning at 3 p.m. This closure allows attendees to visit shops, galleries, and restaurants in Nob Hill before and after the parade.
More than 4,000 people from local businesses, nonprofits, schools, community groups, and residents are expected to participate this year.
The parade is free for all attendees and will take place regardless of weather conditions. The University of New Mexico (UNM) is providing a park-and-ride service with free parking at Lomas and University. Shuttle buses will operate between this location and Johnson Field near Girard throughout the event until 10:30 p.m.
Free ABQ RIDE bus service on Routes 766/777 and 66 is also available for transportation to the parade. Attendees can plan their route using Transit App or Google Maps.
iHeart Media is sponsoring this year’s Twinkle Light Parade.
