The “Take A Ride on Us” program is providing discounted ride options for residents during the Thanksgiving weekend. This initiative, which includes Bernalillo County as a partner, aims to lower incidents of impaired driving during periods when risk is higher. Organizers are urging people to plan ahead and use the service instead of driving under the influence.

From 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26 through 2 a.m. on Monday, December 1, individuals in Bernalillo, Sandoval, and Santa Fe counties can access reduced-fare rides using Uber. By entering the code NMTURKEY25 in the app’s vouchers tab, users can receive up to $10 off two trips. The offer is limited to 2,500 rides and will be available until all credits are used. The discount applies only to fares and does not include tips.

This effort comes at a time when concerns about public safety remain high in Bernalillo County. For example, the District Attorney has expressed frustration over suspects being released without required GPS monitors and returning to the streets despite facing serious charges.
