Sandia National Laboratories reported a significant financial impact in 2024, achieving a record economic contribution that exceeded the previous year by nearly $400 million. This achievement encompasses the 16,900 jobs provided by Sandia, along with $1.08 billion in payments to small business suppliers and $133 million in taxes paid to New Mexico.
"For 75 years, Sandia National Laboratories has been a leader in strengthening national security and advancing technology," stated Sandia Labs Director James Peery. "Our success relies on strong partnerships with diverse suppliers, particularly small businesses, which bring innovation, agility and expertise to our missions."
An upcoming conference will address partnerships established with small businesses through initiatives like the New Mexico Small Business Assistance Program and the Technology Readiness Initiative (TRGR). A small business owner will discuss a project launched on the Navajo Nation with support from Sandia.
Peery and other leaders will present the 2024 Economic Impact Brochure at a news conference scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 10 a.m., held at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History.
