UNM-Taos Massage Therapy Program has achieved national accreditation from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB). This recognition includes the program coordinator, Susan Myers.

By securing and maintaining the NCBTMB Assigned School Code, both the program and Myers have shown a commitment to raising the standards of their profession.

A letter from NCBTMB stated, “By choosing to become an NCBTMB Assigned School, you are showing your students the importance of lifelong learning. Your students have the opportunity to advance their careers beyond entry-level with Board Certification, the highest voluntary credential available in the massage therapy and bodywork profession. Our goal is, was, and always will be to continue elevating the standards of the massage therapy profession through certification and education.”

In addition to this achievement, five candidates graduated from the program in July after passing national exams as part of the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx).
