The Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is expecting hundreds of orphaned kittens and puppies anytime now and throughout the summer season. The department has put out a call for support from the community as they prepare to care for these new arrivals.

"When the new arrivals come to the shelter, we will need certain items to take care of these bundles of joy," expressed the Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department. They have set up a baby registry on Amazon.com under the name Kennel Kompadres to make it easy for those who wish to donate.

"You can help save these fragile lives by donating items listed on our baby registry which you can review at Amazon.com: go to baby registry wish list on amazon.com and type in Kennel Kompadres with a K," the department highlighted. Donations are being accepted through April 30, and drop-off locations are available at any of the Animal Welfare Department shelters.

In addition to material donations, the Animal Welfare Department is also actively seeking foster parents to provide temporary homes for these animals. "Animal Welfare is always looking for foster parents to provide temporary homes for animals," stated the department, emphasizing the rewarding experience of fostering and the impact it has on saving lives.

"Fostering is a rewarding experience, because you are helping to save precious lives," the department added, encouraging those interested to apply for fostering opportunities.

For more information on fostering or to apply, individuals can reach out via email at [email protected] The Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department expressed gratitude to all those who support their efforts in caring for homeless pets and making a difference in their lives.
