There were no new teachers in Albuquerque who signed the pledge in week ending Oct. 9, according to an online pledge from the Zinn Education Project.

No new teachers sign the pledge the week before. It now has two pledges from Albuquerque teachers by the end of the week ending Oct. 9.

They’re one of the thousands of US teachers pledging to continue educating students about the controversial Critical Race Theory, which explains racism is embedded in US culture and politics.

Though the concept was first suggested in the late 70’s, it has recently exploded as a contentious issue between the American right and left in the last two years.

Many who signed the pledge are defying state bans on the teachings. Arizona, Idaho, Iowa, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas have passed legislation banning discussions about the US being inherently racist.

Other states, such as Montana and South Dakota, have denounced the teachings without passing specific legislation.

In an interview with The Washington Free Beacon, Ashley Varner of the Freedom Foundation accused the Zinn Education Project of providing “left-leaning propaganda to teachers.”

Margery Nichelason	There is such a thing as TRUTH that is unwavering, that cannot use bent and twisted into something else. Lying has become a mainstay in our culture today and must be stopped. I refuse to pretend that our history is full of butterflies and rainbows when it just isn't so. Re-forming history for politicals is a disservice to our country and to our young learners. At 66 years old I have experienced the Civil Right Movement in Chicago and am horrified with what is going on today. Racism is against the constitution and LYING is against what God tells us to do. Stop living in fantasy land and let's get back to truth and justice TODAY!!!
