University of New Mexico Lobos issued the following announcement on April 24.
Head coach Danny Gonzales has announced the UNM has added outside linebacker Kyler Drake from San Bernardino, California to the 2020 signing class. Gonzales, in his first year as head coach with UNM, previously announced a class of 24 on February 5.
Drake comes to UNM from Wilmer Amina Carter High School. The 6-foot-4, 230 pound linebacker earned all-league honors in turning in a monster campaign, recording 101 tackles, including 73 solo. He has 12.0 TFLs, an average of one per game. He also had 3.5 sacks and a fumble recovery as a senior. Drake played prep ball for coach Justin Randall.
Drake is the sixth linebacker in the signing class, joining Dion Hunter, Elijah Lash, Ray Leutele, Syaire Riley and Semaj Sims.
