Representative Melanie Stansbury, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, posted several messages on her official Twitter account on October 2, 2025, addressing both religious observance and political discourse.

In an early morning post, Stansbury extended greetings to those observing Yom Kippur: “As Yom Kippur begins, wishing you a blessed and meaningful time for reflection, peace, renewal, and hope. “ (October 2, 2025).

Later that day, she commented on reported political strategies within Washington. In her tweet she stated: “Maximize pain” — that is what the White House literally told the GOP their strategy is. Imagine responding to the fight for human dignity with a strategy for maximizing pain. That is where we’re at.

I’ll say this: History will remember those who stood up, spoke out, and did https://t.co/nI5pkvQ4Fk” (October 2, 2025).

Additionally, Stansbury informed constituents about opportunities for engagement with her office: “Today! My office is holding office hours to answer any of your questions.” (October 2, 2025).

Melanie Stansbury has held her congressional seat through multiple election cycles. She won re-election in 2024 against Steve Jones with 56.4% of the vote to Jones’ 43.6%. In previous elections, she defeated Michelle Garcia Holmes in 2022 and Mark Moores in 2021.
