Representative Stefani Lord, a Republican serving New Mexico’s 22nd House district since 2021, has used her social media platform to raise concerns about the state’s handling of SNAP benefits and related spending.

On November 10, 2025, Lord posted: “Today’s special session is to request that New Mexico legislators approve $20 million a week in SNAP benefits, plus hundreds of millions more in spending.

Meanwhile, NM refuses to provide SNAP data to the feds and isn’t complying with federal work requirements either.

And”

Two days later, on November 12, 2025, she shared another post containing only an emoji and a link: ” https://t.co/wb0XTDJu0R”

On November 13, 2025, Lord highlighted allegations of misuse of government-issued EBT cards in criminal activity: “Sheriff Baker’s deputies recently pieced together a case revealing that government-issued EBT cards, or SNAP benefits, are being used as currency in the drug market.

In one exchange, 36-year-old Robert Iverson asked Armstrong if he’d take “500 dollars food stamps…for 100″

Lord was elected to the New Mexico State House in 2021 and succeeded Gregg Schmedes as representative for District 22. Her recent posts reflect ongoing debates over public assistance program oversight and state compliance with federal requirements.
