Power has been restored at the Bernalillo County Emergency Communications Center after a power outage on September 16, 2025, temporarily affected 9-1-1 dispatch operations. The outage occurred when the automatic transfer switch failed during generator testing.

During the incident, some emergency calls were rerouted to maintain uninterrupted response services. All dispatch operations have since returned to normal.

“Bernalillo County thanks the community for its patience and understanding during the brief outage.”

This event comes as public safety remains a concern in the area. According to a recent report, the District Attorney of Bernalillo County has expressed frustration over suspects violating GPS monitoring requirements and being released back into the community. In one case, Jawid Yaqubi was accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon but was released by a judge despite efforts by the DA’s office to keep him in custody.
