Rep. Melanie Stansbury, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, addressed concerns about the prosecution and investigation of Jeffrey Epstein in a series of tweets posted on September 20, 2025.

In her first post on September 20, Stansbury stated, “Apparently, the testimony of 40 minors was not enough to convince then U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta (later a Trump appointee) to prosecute Jeffrey Epstein. This is one of the biggest cover-ups of our generation.”

Later that day, she continued her commentary with another tweet: “You heard it here. Former U.S. Attorney and Trump Cabinet Secretary Alex Acosta—yes, THE Alex Acosta who gave Jeffrey Epstein a sweetheart deal—says that the White House has the authority to release the files. Folks, this is a cover-up, plain as day, and we won’t stop fighting”

In a separate message recognizing workforce initiatives on September 20, Stansbury wrote: “This #WorkforceDevelopmentMonth and every month, I am proud to support programs like Job Corps, CNM Workforce training center, Labor Union apprenticeship and training programs, and NM State Workforce Development programs, that ensure our communities have opportunities to build”

Melanie Stansbury has held her seat through several recent elections. In 2024 she defeated Steve Jones in the general election with 56.4% of the vote; in 2022 she won against Michelle Garcia Holmes with 55.8%; and in 2021 she prevailed over Mark Moores with 60.4%. These results reflect consistent support from her constituency across multiple election cycles.
