Representative Melanie Stansbury, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, posted a series of tweets on January 9, 2026, addressing concerns about foreign policy decisions by the U.S. President and highlighting challenges faced by nurses in the healthcare system.
In her first tweet at 21:22 UTC, Stansbury questioned recent actions by the President, stating: “As they say: follow the money. When you see the U.S. President invading foreign countries, stealing their oil, corporate giveaways, and talking about using foreign banking—you have to ask—what is actually going on here?
We’re watching, Mr. President. We will follow the money.”
Later that evening at 22:18 UTC, she followed up with another post referencing historical perspectives: “There are other notable historical figures who shared this point of view…”
Shifting focus to domestic issues at 23:48 UTC, Stansbury addressed problems within the healthcare sector and announced legislative action: “Our nurses are chronically overworked, underpaid, and understaffed, and it’s way past time we overhaul our healthcare system to support them.
That’s why I re-introduced the Public Health Nursing Act with @SenMarkey, which will help rebuild and sustain a robust public health”
Melanie Stansbury has represented her district through several election cycles. She won reelection in 2024 against Steve Jones with 56.4% of the vote to Jones’s 43.6%. In previous elections she defeated Michelle Garcia Holmes in 2022 (55.8% to 44.2%) and Mark Moores in 2021 (60.4% to 35.6%).
