Representative Melanie Stansbury, who has an extensive background in science and natural resource management, recently shared updates and reflections on her work and community activities through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On September 14, 2025, Stansbury emphasized the importance of scientific integrity in environmental policy. She wrote, “As someone who has spent my career working in science, water, and natural resource management—I know firsthand how critical healthy forests are to our watersheds, communities, and climate resilience. That’s why I will always push back on misinformation and stand up for science,”.

The following day, September 15, 2025, she highlighted her participation in a local event by posting about her experience at the New Mexico State Fair. In her message she stated, “We had the best time at the State Fair! We did all the things, ate all the things, and loved being home and celebrating our communities and one of the best times of year in New Mexico. #NewMexicoTrue @NMStateFair”.

Later that same day, Stansbury commented on trending topics in online discourse with a brief remark: “Meanwhile, DOGE is back… and the GOP has apparently moved on to contrails… “.

Melanie Stansbury serves as a U.S. Representative from New Mexico. She secured her position after winning several general elections: defeating Mark Moores in 2021 with 60.4% of the vote; Michelle Garcia Holmes in 2022 with 55.8%; and Steve Jones in 2024 with 56.4%. These victories reflect sustained support from her constituency across multiple election cycles.
