Later that day at 15:47 UTC, she marked National Nurses Day with recognition for health care professionals in the state and highlighted her policy efforts: “Happy National Nurses Day! Today, we’re honoring the nurses and health care workers who show up for New Mexico in every corner of our state. But words aren’t enough.Â
At 16:29 UTC on May 6th, Stansbury continued to document her outreach activities by inviting community members to connect during her visit to Valencia County: “Good morning from Tomé and Valencia County! We’re back on the road this morning, meeting with local leadership and the community and hearing from all of you. If you’re out and about in Valencia, come see us! “
Stansbury has served as U.S. Representative since 2021 after replacing Deb Haaland in Congress. She previously held office in the New Mexico House of Representatives from 2019 to 2021. In recent election cycles, she won against Steve Jones in 2024 with 56.4% of votes; against Michelle Garcia Holmes in 2022 with 55.8%; and against Mark Moores in a special election in 2021 with over 60% support.
Born in Farmington in 1979 and currently residing in Albuquerque at age 44, Stansbury continues to focus on community engagement throughout her tenure.
