U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury, who serves New Mexico’s 1st congressional district, recently posted a series of updates on her social media account highlighting both political commentary and community engagement.

On August 22, 2025, Stansbury commented on an unspecified group or individuals, stating: “These guys are so weak that they literally can’t handle the truth – or pull ups, apparently. “

The following day, she shared her experience participating in a local event: “We had such a blast at the Zia Gay Rodeo today! And, it was such an honor to serve as the Grand Marshal!

From the arena to the halls of Congress, we are fighting every day for our communities. Ride with pride, New Mexico!

” (August 23, 2025).

On August 24, Stansbury highlighted Albuquerque’s music scene by introducing Entourage Jazz: “New Mexico has long been a center for art, music, and culture. On today’s mini Congressional NM-01 Concert, meet Entourage Jazz, who is part of Albuquerque’s thriving music and art scene.

We’re excited to share their story and some of their music—including their rendition of “I”

Stansbury has represented New Mexico’s 1st congressional district since winning a special election in 2021 against Mark Moores. She was subsequently re-elected in both 2022 and 2024 general elections with majorities over Michelle Garcia Holmes and Steve Jones respectively.
