Rep. Melanie Stansbury, U.S. Congresswoman representing New Mexico’s 1st district, posted a series of tweets on February 22, 2026, highlighting her recent activities and views on community engagement, immigration policy, and federal funding for local projects.

In one post commemorating Black History Month, Stansbury shared her visit to the University of New Mexico African American Student Services. On February 22, she wrote: “It’s Black History Month! And, we’re celebrating! We stopped in yesterday to the @unmafro to have lunch and hear from students about what’s on their minds, what they’re celebrating, and what they love about the UNM community. Special thanks to Dr. Brandi Stone, Cedric, and Kaelyn”.

Later that evening, Stansbury criticized current federal immigration policies in another tweet dated February 22: “Cruelty is the point. And, there seems to be no limits to this Administration’s cruelty. Refugees who’ve escaped war and violence and who are legally residing in our country are the latest targets in this horrific assault on our immigrant communities.

She also highlighted legislative accomplishments for her district in a tweet posted at 02:32 UTC: “We are delivering for New Mexico—in spite of the chaos. Deeply proud to have helped secure funding for 14 Community Projects across NM-01 this year!

These projects will make transformative investments in public safety, housing, healthcare, behavioral health, water and our”.
