Rep. Melanie Stansbury, U.S. Congresswoman representing New Mexico’s 1st district, posted a series of statements on her official X (formerly Twitter) account on February 23, 2026, covering topics from government oversight to local animal welfare initiatives and calls for federal action.

In one post at 16:42 UTC, Stansbury wrote, “Waste. Fraud. Abuse. Where’s DOGE when it’s actually needed?”

Later that day at 17:10 UTC, she addressed local developments in animal welfare, stating, “We love our furry friends!  So proud to help secure funding to finally make a new Sandoval County Animal Shelter and Clinic a reality. This project has been many years in the making and we are so grateful for the leadership of Sandoval County Commissioner Bruch, the entire”

At 19:44 UTC on the same day, Stansbury commented on international justice efforts and urged action by U.S. authorities: “The U.K. is acting where the U.S. is failing. @TheJusticeDept—it’s time for investigations, indictments, arrests.”
