U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District marked National Health Center Week and the start of the new school year with a series of posts on August 8, 2025, highlighting local healthcare workers, educators, and an upcoming community town hall.
In a post at 15:15 UTC, Stansbury wrote, “This National Health Center Week, I’m proud to celebrate Health Centers and our dedicated healthcare workers who keep our communities in New Mexico healthy year-round, like First Nations Community HealthSource, a vital resource for those who need care. Healthcare is a human”.
Later that day at 21:20 UTC, she turned her attention to education: “Give a teacher a hug! It’s back to school, and we are so grateful to all of the teachers, educators, and school workers who keep our schools going. As an Albuquerque Public School kid K-12, it was teachers at Cibola High School (Go Cougars!) who helped me find my path in life.”
Stansbury also invited constituents to participate in an upcoming event: “Join us on Monday for a Town Hall in your neighborhood! Come out and share your hopes, dreams, and concerns for NM-01 with me and my team! RSVP here: https://t.co/D3Zn4XHw9l https://t.co/bujxWR2jJL”, posted at 21:39 UTC.
Melanie Stansbury has represented New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District since winning the seat in a special election in 2021. She has since been re-elected twice—in 2022 against Michelle Garcia Holmes by a margin of approximately 11 percentage points and again in 2024 over Steve Jones with about 56% of the vote.
