U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury posted a series of messages on her official Twitter account on January 5, 2026, addressing topics ranging from international affairs to local community stories.
In her first post of the day, Stansbury commented on geopolitical interests by stating, “It’s about the oil.” (January 5, 2026).
Later that day, she listed ongoing issues unaffected by potential intervention in Venezuela: “Things invading Venezuela doesn’t stop:
-The Epstein investigation and the DOJ’s failure to comply
-New reporting on Trump’s relationship with Epstein and the recruitment of girls from Mar-A-Lago
-January 6 anniversary and testimony from Jack Smith on Trump’s involvement and use” (January 5, 2026).
In her final post of the evening, Stansbury shifted focus to highlight a local business: “Even as so much is going on—we want to share the stories that make our communities who we are. Today we’re sharing the story of Frank’s feed store in Bernalillo—which has been serving the community since 1967. Here is their story and why it’s one of my favorite places to stop! “ (January 5, 2026).
Melanie Stansbury has represented New Mexico in Congress since winning a special election in 2021. She secured re-election victories against Mark Moores in 2021, Michelle Garcia Holmes in 2022, and Steve Jones in 2024.
