The Housing and Treatment Navigation Center in Albuquerque is set to increase its capacity by 100 beds, bringing the total number of men’s and women’s Navigation and Treatment beds to 192. The center operates a 90-day program that offers case management, substance use treatment, and other supportive services.

Chicanos Por La Causa will manage the expansion for the Women’s Housing and Treatment Navigation Center. Community Bridges, an organization based in Mesa, Arizona with experience running similar facilities in that state, will oversee operations for the Men’s Housing and Treatment Navigation Center.

Funding for these expansions comes from a state allocation of $1.35 million for each expansion.

“The first step was opening 50 beds at our Housing and Treatment Navigation Center. Now we’re ready to scale up to meet the demand,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “This expansion more than doubles our ability to provide pathways to healing.”

“Through this vital funding, we can connect more people to life-changing treatment and services,” said Health, Housing and Homelessness Director Gilbert Ramirez. “Thank you to the state for injecting funding into programming that offers safe, dignified spaces where people can begin their journey to stability.”
