City of Albuquerque appoints Damon Bader as new real property manager

Damon Bader has been appointed as the new Real Property Manager in the City of Albuquerque’s Department of Municipal Development. In this role, Bader will lead the team responsible for managing all real estate services for the city. His background includes experience as a commercial and residential realtor with Realty One, along with executive-level leadership at Defined Fitness. Bader is originally from Albuquerque and continues to reside on the city’s West Side.

As Real Property Manager, Bader will oversee activities such as acquiring and selling real estate, granting licenses for use of city-owned properties, acquiring and selling rights-of-way, granting easements, and negotiating leases on behalf of the city.

In addition to Bader’s appointment, Gary Boyd has been promoted to Assistant Real Property Manager within DMD. Boyd is also an Albuquerque native and has worked with the city for two years. He previously owned an acrylic fabrication shop for 20 years before moving into residential real estate in 2012. Boyd now teaches continuing education classes at Mesa Real Estate Institute and is known locally for piloting his purple and red balloon over Albuquerque on weekends.
