Food Truck Fridays will return to Albuquerque, with the City announcing the event’s comeback as a weekly community gathering. The series is set to begin on March 13 and will continue every Friday until October 30, 2026, except for June 19 and July 4.
The event aims to showcase Albuquerque’s diverse food scene and provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to gather downtown. According to the City, applications are now open for interested vendors, who have until February 13 to apply at cabq.gov/foodtruckfridays.
All eligible vendors will be entered into a lottery during the week of February 17. Those selected will be notified of their participation dates. The City plans to organize participating food trucks by cuisine type to ensure variety and address dietary needs at each event.
Albuquerque has a history of supporting community events and cultural gatherings through venues such as the KiMo Theatre, which has served as a landmark for artistic expression and public events over several decades (https://www.cabq.gov/artsculture/kimo/history-of-the-kimo). The city’s government also plays a role in setting goals and maintaining public services through its council structure (https://www.cabq.gov/council/council-history).
