Philip Bosin and Jakub Prachar were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for men’s tennis, according to a May 13 announcement from the University of New Mexico.
The recognition highlights student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. To qualify for this honor, athletes must maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and participate in at least 75% of their team’s matches during the spring season.
Bosin played primarily at No. 2 singles for the University of New Mexico, while Prachar competed mostly at No. 4 singles but also saw action at No. 3 and No. 5 positions. Both players contributed in doubles matches as well.
The Academic All-District Men’s Tennis teams are selected by College Sports Communicators each year to recognize top student-athletes across NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, and NAIA levels for their achievements on the court and in academics.
Those honored as Academic All-District are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Finalists will move forward to be voted on by CSC members, with first-, second-, and third-team honorees scheduled to be announced on June 2.
