The Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office will expand early voting for the 2025 Regular Local Election starting Saturday, October 18. Nineteen additional early voting centers will open across the county, providing more options for voters to cast their ballots, submit absentee ballots, or use same-day voter registration.

Early voting will run from Saturday, October 18, through Saturday, November 1, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Voters can drop off absentee ballots at any early voting center or on Election Day, which is Tuesday, November 4.

All voters, including those submitting absentee ballots, will receive an “I Voted” sticker.

Same-day voter registration will be available during early voting and on Election Day, allowing eligible residents to register, update their information, and vote in one visit.

In related county news, the District Attorney of Bernalillo County has expressed concern about suspects being released without GPS monitors when they are required to have them. This frustration follows incidents such as the case of Jawid Yaqubi, who was accused of threatening his sister with a gun and firing a shot near his mother in their Albuquerque home. Despite the DA’s office requesting that Yaqubi remain in custody pending trial on aggravated assault charges, a judge decided to release him.
