Bernalillo County, in partnership with Albuquerque Public Schools, is reaching out to students and families who received primary or behavioral health services from mobile health units operated by Wellness Equity Alliance CA, PC (WEA) between October 1, 2024, and September 27, 2025. The county aims to ensure those who accessed these services are connected to appropriate follow-up care and resources.
The contract with WEA, which allowed the organization to provide school-based health care through mobile units at certain Albuquerque Public Schools and community centers when school was not in session, has been officially terminated as of September 28, 2025.
Students and family members who received care from WEA during the contract period are being asked to fill out a short questionnaire about their experience. This information will help Bernalillo County and Albuquerque Public Schools evaluate the services provided and identify any unmet needs so families can be directed to suitable support.
To access the questionnaire, families are instructed to use the QR code provided by the county.
Meanwhile, issues related to public safety remain a concern for Bernalillo County. The District Attorney has expressed frustration that some suspects have been released without GPS monitors despite requirements. One example involved Jawid Yaqubi, who was accused of aggravated assault but was released before trial after allegedly threatening his family with a firearm.
