Voters in Bernalillo County will again receive “I Voted” stickers designed by Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) art students when they cast their ballots this year. The Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office received over 200 entries in last year’s sticker design contest. Six new designs from that collection have been added to the series, along with some popular choices from the 2024 General Election.

“The creativity and the effort that these students put into their designs was incredible,” said County Clerk Michelle S. Kavanaugh. “We want to continue sharing their art and talent with the community.”

The new stickers have already generated interest among voters since early voting began at the Clerk’s Annex on October 7. Early voting at this location runs through October 17, after which it expands to 20 additional sites starting October 18. Election Day is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4.

For more information about polling locations and hours, residents can visit berncoclerk.gov or contact the Clerk’s Office by phone at 505-243-VOTE (8683) or email at clerk@bernco.gov.

In other county news, there has been frustration within the District Attorney’s office regarding suspects who are released without GPS monitors despite being required to wear them. For example, Jawid Yaqubi was accused of aggravated assault involving a firearm but was released by a judge even though prosecutors sought to keep him in custody until trial.
