The Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office will be closed on Monday, October 13 in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day. This closure also applies to early voting at the Clerk’s Annex. The office and early voting services will resume operations on Tuesday, October 14.

For more information about hours, early voting, elections, recording and filing, and other services, residents can visit berncoclerk.gov. Those needing to contact the Clerk’s Office may call 505-243-VOTE (8683) or email clerk@bernco.gov.

Meanwhile, concerns have been raised by the District Attorney of Bernalillo County regarding suspects who are being released without GPS monitors when they are required to have them. In a recent case, Jawid Yaqubi was accused of threatening his sister with a gun and firing a shot above his mother’s head at their home in Albuquerque. The District Attorney’s office sought to keep him in custody until trial after he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; however, the judge decided to release him.
