In related county matters, the District Attorney of Bernalillo County has expressed concern over suspects violating GPS ankle monitor requirements, leading to situations where individuals are released without proper monitoring. One example involved Jawid Yaqubi, who was accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon but was released by a judge despite efforts from the DA’s office to keep him in custody.
