Bernalillo County Clerk Michelle S. Kavanaugh has expressed her gratitude to poll officials in recognition of National Poll Worker Recruitment Day. Kavanaugh acknowledged the important role that poll officials play in the county’s elections and encouraged local residents to consider applying for these positions for the upcoming 2025 Regular Local Election.

“Clerk Kavanaugh encourages Bernalillo County residents to apply to become a poll official for the 2025 Regular Local Election. Poll officials play an essential role in conducting successful elections for Bernalillo County voters.”

Those interested in serving as poll officials are advised to contact the Clerk’s Office at 505-468-1291 (option 4). Additional information about voting and election details can be found at Berncoclerk.gov.

The call for new poll workers comes as public safety remains a concern in Bernalillo County. Recently, the District Attorney has voiced frustration over suspects being released without required GPS monitors, despite serious charges such as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
