A film crew from “The Germinator,” an international documentary series produced for Discovery Channel Germany, recently completed filming with Bernalillo County Animal Care. The crew joined Animal Care Field Services officers on ride-alongs to document their work in animal welfare across the county.
The upcoming series aims to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges and dedication involved in protecting animals within the community. The program is scheduled to air in spring 2026, and will also be available for public viewing on the Bernalillo County Animal Care website at www.bernco.gov/animalcare.
Bernalillo County has faced other challenges related to public safety and law enforcement. For example, the District Attorney of Bernalillo County has expressed frustration over suspects violating GPS monitor rules and being released back onto the streets despite facing serious charges.
